Industry training programs are expected to provide the opportunity for graduate researchers to contribute at both a strategic and operational level to support organizations and companies in delivering projects and programmes.

Monash University internships | what are you expecting
Research PhD training programs give you the opportunity to apply your research skills by working on short-term research projects in industry. Through a variety of pathways, our highly skilled doctoral students can undertake short-term training projects owned by industry partners including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
To compensate graduating scholars for their time and efforts, we recommend a financial contribution from the host. The financial contribution from the host organization can be designated as a tax-deductible donation. The suggested host contribution is AUD9,000 for 3 months full time (part time equivalent) (minimum 60 days).
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Monash University Graduate Research Internship, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must be graduate students
- Applicants must have strong leadership qualities and high level communication skills.
- You must also be making good progress with your search and be confident that taking the internship will not affect your search and/or course progress.
- Research training must be related to your degree.
- relevant to your field of research.
- Use the research skills/experience gained during the Ph.D.
- Research skill/experience will benefit your research or research field.

How to apply: Once you have the signed contract agreement (above), you will need to apply to change your registration and take the training online Online Training PhD Form I enclose all relevant documents:
- Signing a contract agreement
- Ethical approval (when applicable)
- letter of intent (Required when conducting the training and obtaining the contract agreement signed 18 months after the candidacy).
