Talented students are selected for the funding program. The Master of Law program offers a grant of €25,000, which covers the full tuition fee of €19,300 as well as a portion of the recipient’s living expenses. The grant is valid for one year.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible Countries: Candidates from developing countries are welcome to apply.
Courses or subjects that are acceptable: The scholarship will be awarded in the university’s master of laws program.
Admissible Criteria: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:
They are citizens of a country with an HDI Index ranking of medium (113-151) or low (152-189) (see: https://hdr.undp.org/data-center/country-insights#/ranks).
Lack of financial resources to continue with the study program without the assistance of a scholarship.
Have a strong desire to pursue the Master of Laws Advanced Studies program in International Children’s Rights.

How to Apply

How to Apply: Candidates must apply online for admission to the Master of Laws program. After enrolling, they can submit an online scholarship application to the university.
Documents in Support: The following documents must be presented to the university by the students:

  • A copy of a valid passport or identification card
  • A photocopy of a Dutch residency permit (if applicable)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Language abilities (if applicable)
  • Diploma and transcript copies
  • Motivational letters and recommendation letters
  • Admission Requirements: Students must meet Leiden University’s admission requirements.
  • Language Requirement: Candidates must have demonstrated English language proficiency through a TOEFL test (overall score of 100 Internet-based), IELTS test (overall score of 7.0 – academic module only), or Cambridge English Proficiency certificate (CPE), which may be supplemented by a phone interview.
    In addition to the above, overall English test scores, IELTS 6.0 (TOEFL 20) for speaking, listening, and reading, and IELTS 6.5 (TOEFL 22) for writing, are required.
    English test results are only two years old.
