Scholarships for 35 postgraduate students across South Africa over 3 years to access a life-changing education at Heriot-Watt. The cost of each 3-year scholarship is £12,000.

Heriot-Wat Dennis Goldberg University Scholarship | details

The Denis Goldberg Scholarship Program aims to increase the enrollment and retention of South African students in postgraduate courses in energy, geosciences, infrastructure and society at Heriot-Watt through:

  • Create a pioneering scholarship program for up to 35 students targeting fields of study via EGIS,
  • Provide an opportunity for mentoring and networking through Heriot-Watt alumni and strong industry partnerships across South Africa and beyond,
  • Work with local stakeholders in Southern Africa to establish relationships with local communities,
  • The scholarship program is eventually expanded to partner with other schools across Heriot-Watt to offer a wide range of courses for the scholarship programme.

The Denis Goldberg Scholarship Program will support disadvantaged postgraduate students from across South Africa to take courses in their School of Energy, Geosciences, Infrastructure and Society (EGIS), and progress into rewarding careers and leadership roles in the South African energy industry.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the Heriot-Watt Dennis Goldberg University Scholarship Program, you are expected to meet the following conditions:

  • Applicants must be from South Africa
  • Applicants must be graduate students
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time degree program
  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
