Australia Scholarships The awards are administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australian government. They are long-term awards aimed at contributing to the development needs of Australia’s partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements.
Awards provide opportunities for people from Developing countriesparticularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region pursuing full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programs at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.

- Full tuition fees
- Air travel payments for one economy class ticket to and from Australia, by the shortest direct route.
- The establishment allowance covers accommodation, study materials and textbooks.
- Contribution to living expenses.
- Introductory academic programme.
- Health coverage for foreign students.
- Pre-course English (PCE) fee if required.
- Supplementary academic support may be available to ensure the scholar’s academic success or to enhance his or her academic experience.
- Fieldwork (for research and masters awards by course that has a research component where fieldwork is mandatory).
Australia Awards 2024 | Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Australia Scholarship, applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria before they can be considered for the award.
- Country Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens/residents of the participating country as listed in the Australia Awards Scholarship. Make sure you apply according to your country’s requirements.
- Academic requirements: The minimum academic requirement for Australia Awards is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher education obtained either in your home country or in a foreign country.
- English language requirements: Courses available in the Awards are usually taught in English and therefore applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.) in order to be able to complete the courses. Applicants from countries where English is the official language of communication and whose first degree was taught in English may be granted a waiver and may only submit a letter to prove this.

Australia Awards Scholarship Application Guide 2024
Before applying for awards, please note the following:
- Check opening and closing dates for your country, and select your country of citizenship/residence from the list of participating countries for specific information.
- Be sure to read the Australia Awards Scholarship Policy Handbook which provides information on general eligibility requirements, selection processes, etc.
- Be sure to note the application status for your country as some countries encourage online application while others require paper applications.
How to apply:
Interested applicants for the Australia Awards Scholarships 2023 can either apply online or apply by post. Please be sure to check which application mode your country allows.
Applicants must visit Online Australian Scholarships Information System (oasis). When you register online, you will be asked to answer a few questions to prove your eligibility. You will then be assigned a unique registration number, username and password.
Applicants do not need to submit their application immediately. They may draft and update the application form, and their supporting documents, up to the appropriately stated closing date Participating country file. Applicants should note that once their application has been submitted, it cannot be amended or changed.
Applicants who are unable to submit an application online may apply by mail. Be sure to check the participating country’s profile for contact details for a paper application form and other requirements. Completed paper forms and supporting documents must be submitted by the deadline specified by your country.
