The 3-year program leads to the degree of Doctor of Laws (respectively Doctor of Laws) in all legal sub-disciplines and pays special attention to interdisciplinary projects.
The University invites applications from outstanding graduates of all disciplines who are keen to produce high-quality doctoral dissertations in legal sciences in an excellent international research environment.
Eligibility criteria
In order to be eligible for the Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy Postgraduate Scholarship in Law, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must be international students
- Successful applications must have demonstrated the ability to produce excellent academic performance, generally demonstrated by a distinguished degree (cf. the meeting)
- Students whose first language is not English or German are required to prove their language proficiency by submitting relevant certificates.
- The applicant must submit an appropriate PhD topic that corresponds to Search ranges from the Graduate School

- Language certificates (German or English): Non-native speakers writing their thesis in German or English must prove their language skills by submitting relevant certificates. German: TestDaF or DSH; English: Certificate attesting to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR).
