Eligibility criteria
In order to be eligible for the African Union Internship Program for African Students, applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:
- Nationals of member states of the African Union.
- Students enrolled in full-time undergraduate (in their final year of study) / postgraduate studies or graduates from a recognized educational institution;
- Fluent in one of the official working languages of the African Union (Arabic, English, French or Portuguese, Kshawahili);
- Applicants must be between 22 and 32 years old at the time of application;
- Meet the requirements specified in the Terms of Reference.

How to apply: All internship applications must be submitted through the AU Careers portal at: https://careers.au.int.
Candidates wishing to apply for an internship with the African Union Commission should send the following document to: internship@africa-union.org
- A letter of motivation stating what they expect to gain from the internship programme
- A copy of a valid passport or national identity card
- Certified copies of relevant academic certificates
- Current resume (CV)
- A letter of recommendation for an internship from the learning institution they attend.
