Universities of Edinburgh MRC Doctoral Training Program (DTP) | details

This doctoral training program focuses on training doctoral students in both the quantitative skills (mathematics, statistics, numeracy, and numerical excellence) identified by the MRC (Medical Research Council) skills priorities, and in their application to a variety of data sources (from bench “omics” to records Health), which means that students gain interdisciplinary training in the skills required to deliver the vision of precision medicine.

Precision medicine is a transformative approach to disease treatment and prevention, with a focus on determining which strategy will be effective for patients, based on genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors.
