The scholarship seeks to provide financial support to more than 100 self-funded international students. Applicants should note that scholarships are competitive and will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence.

Colleges and schools across the university have developed a range of subject-specific schemes to support their students. The following scholarships are available for international students:
- Manchester International Excellence Scholarships in Science and Engineering
The scholarship is open to all fee-paying, self-funding international students and will be considered based on their UCAS application. There are 20 competitive awards of £3,000 per annum for up to four years of study.
- Morton Award for International Excellence
The Morton Prize for International Excellence is awarded to self-funded international students in chemical engineering and analytical sciences. Competitive awards of £3,000 per annum, for up to four years of study, will be awarded to the best performing applicants.
- International Pharmacy Scholarship
The Pharmacy Award is £2,000 per annum for self-funding international students. For more information, applicants can contact ug.pharmacy@manchester.ac.uk
- Optometry International Scholarship
The Optometry Award is for international students with a passion for optics and is valued at £2,000 per annum. Applicants can contact ug.optometry@manchester.ac.uk for more information.
- International Psychology Scholarship

- Faculty of Biological Sciences Distinguished Scholarship
International students with an offer to study any of the undergraduate programs in the School of Biological Sciences will be awarded £2,000 per annum. For more information please contact ug.biosciences@manchester.ac.uk
- Foundation year scholarship to the School of Biological Sciences

- Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards
The university awards approximately £1,000 to the top 0.5% of undergraduate students upon graduation each year. Nominations are made by departments, for more information email: fse-scholarships@manchester.ac.uk
the prize £1,000 per annum is awarded to first and second year undergraduate students in the following areas of specialization: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences (including Geology), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics.
Students in related courses are invited to write a 1,000-word essay on a given topic. There are up to three awards available for each department and year. The email and poster publicity usually launches in December with a closing date in February. Students are selected on the basis of their entry qualifications/first-year examination results and the content of their application/essay. First-year undergraduates are awarded £3,000 per annum in the following subject areas: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences (including Geology), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Astronomy.
Students in relevant courses are invited to apply to BP online (usually in November of their first year). Students are selected on the basis of their applications, online tests, and interview. - International Excellence Scholarships for Undergraduate Students
Well-qualified international students are awarded £2,000 per annum for any undergraduate course in the School of Science and Engineering.
- Indian Excellence Scholarships
Three Indian students who demonstrate excellent levels of achievement while studying the International Baccalaureate are awarded £80,000. The highest rated student will receive £40,000 paid out at £10,000 per annum, for up to four years of study. Two students will receive awards of £20,000 each paying £5,000 per annum, for up to four years of study.
- William Boyd Dawkins Scholarships
The £1,000 award is given to students who have achieved AAA at A-level (or equivalent). To be eligible, offer holders will need to place university as their firm choice. - Materials science and engineering programmes
Outstanding domestic and international applicants to all materials science and engineering programs will be eligible for an automatic materials section and a total scholarship of £5,000 if they achieve A* A* A* grades (or equivalent) or £3,000 if they achieve A* grades A*A at A level (or equivalent). - International Mathematics Scholarship
All new international students who meet the sporting component of their entry requirements are awarded £1,000. The award, which lasts as long as your undergraduate degree, be it three or four years, is paid automatically in the first year; After this batch, you must maintain a test average of at least 65%. All international students will be automatically considered for this scholarship and do not need to apply for it. We will notify you of your eligibility for the International Mathematics Scholarship as soon as we know whether or not you meet the entry requirements.
- International Sports Excellence Scholarship

The award provides a paid internship and the possibility of further employment for first-year undergraduate students studying relevant subjects.
- Energy Academy Engineering Scholarships

- Manchester Jurist Scholars Award
The scholarship provides up to 25% of the annual tuition fee for undergraduate students abroad. International students enrolled for a full-time undergraduate degree in the Department of Law and paying tuition fees abroad.
