ETH4D Doctoral Scholarship Program 2023 | Eligibility criteria
To be considered for the ETH4D Doctoral Scholarship Program 2023, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be enrolled in a doctoral program at a university or research institute in least developed, low and lower-middle-income countries.
- The application must be submitted by the ETH professor hosting the PhD candidate.
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic and research capabilities.

- Economy round-trip ticket (maximum 2k CHF) to and from Switzerland for a research stay

- Travel allowance to attend an academic conference
- Research materials (eg laboratory equipment) (maximum 6 kFr in total).

How to apply: Interested applicants for the ETH4D Doctoral Scholarship Program 2023 must complete the Online ordering Submit the following application documents:

- A letter of motivation for a doctoral candidate (one page)
- Latest university transcripts
- PhD candidate’s CV (maximum 2 pages) incl. Publications
- Two academic reference letters
- PhD project proposal (if any)
- Letter of support from the host ETH professor, including any financial and in-kind contributions (in case the mentor is a senior scientist or postdoc, both the mentor and their professor must sign the letter of support)
